Kathmandu,
Nov. 5: Chairman of the CPN-UML, Jhalanath Khanal met with President Dr. Ram
Baran Yadav at the Presidental Palace, Sheetal Niwas, this morning.
During
the meeting, the duo discussed focusing on contemporary political issues of the
country and budget to be presented by the government.
On
the occasion, President Dr. Yadav urged Khanal to take relevant initiatives and
efforts among political parties to end existing political and constitutional
stalemate.
The
President also expressed worries over failure to forge consensus among
political parties for long. Khanal informed the President that the budget to be
brought without consensus among political parties will not be acceptable to his
party.
The
CPN-UML chairman also urged President Dr. Yadav not to accept the budget to be
brought without political consensus.
Talking
briefly to media persons after the meeting, Khanal pointed out the need that
the UCPN-Maoist and the government should be flexible for consensus as the
government is obstacle on the issue of moving ahead by forging consensus among
political parties.
He
said there is no possibility of the parties to move ahead without consensus,
saying no party could move ahead without ignoring consensus in the context that
the constitution has given high-respect to the consensus among political
parties.
During
one-hour meeting, they also discussed on the issues of formation of a national
consensus government and elections, it is learnt.
