Kathmandu,
Nov. 11: The Nepali Congress has decided to run agitation programmes strongly
to hold election of the Constituent Assembly (CA) by forming a national
consensus government.
A
meeting of NC office bearers and available central members in Kathmandu held
today at the residence of NC President, Sushil Koirala, decided to launch the
agitation programmes in peaceful manner by extensive mobilization of people.
The
NC decided to make the agitation programme effective the day after the
declaration of agitation programmes against the government led by the
UCPN-Maoist by opposition parties including the NC and CPN-UML.
The
opposition parties including the NC and CPN-UML at the headquarters of the
CPN-UML had declared the agitation programmes jointly to launch from November
17 for the formation of a national consensus government.
The
meeting of the NC decided to run the agitation programmes effectively with each
party taking its share of task and the NC directed its leaders and cadres to be
focused in the agitation.
Talking
to media persons after the meeting, Vice-president of NC, Ram Chandra Paudel,
said that discussion was held on making the proposed agitation programmes
effective and moving ahead by dividing the tasks.
Paudel
said decision was made to give formality to it by holding party's central
committee meeting if needed. He further said that it was necessary to move ahead
by forging consensus immediately as the CA election in the country was
impossible if moved ahead without national consensus.
Similarly,
Spokesperson, Dilendra Badu, said that discussion was held that consensus
should now be forged on all issues giving all attention to election including
budget by forming a national consensus government, as the outlet of the current
political and constitutional crises is only possible from election.
Stating
that the stance of the NC on budget is intact, Badu said that a national
consensus government would only bring budget by forging political consensus.
