dahal calls on president


Kathmandu, Nov. 9: A meeting was held between President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, on the current political issues including budget.
During the meeting held at the office of the president at Sheetal Niwas, this morning, President Dr. Yadav once again urged Dahal to bring the budget on political consensus.
The President urged to bring a full-fledged budget on consensus of opposition parties and stressed on the need of consensus and collaboration, said Dahal quoting the President.
In response, Dahal familiarized the president that he was involved in forging political consensus and consulted with the president about the decision of the opposition parties to stop the budget. 
The consultation meeting was held today between the President and Dahal on the second day of the opposition parties making a written request to the President not to approve the budget to be brought without consensus.
Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai had held a meeting with President Dr. Yadav just after the opposition parties' request to the President not to approve the budget, and had assured the President that initiatives were underway to forge consensus and the budget will be brought on consensus.
The opposition parties on Thursday had urged President Dr. Yadav not to approve the budget.

Sanghiya Samajbadi Party formed under Rai

KATHMANDU, NOV 22 - The crusaders of federalism based on single identity on Monday announced the formation of a new party under the leadership of former CPN-UML Vice Chairman Ashok Rai. The new party Sanghiya Samajbadi Party was announced at a programme organised at a function organised at New Baneshwor in the Capital. Most of the leaders and cadres of the new party are from the UML and some are also from the Nepali Congress. The 98-member central ad hoc working committee includes eight vice chairmen, one general secretary, three deputy general secretaries and five secretaries.
