A
talented chef who once cooked for the Dalai Lama and can include
actress Joanna Lumley among his supporters has served up his debut
cookery book.
Former Gurkha soldier Pemba Lama, who has also cooked for the Queen, has written The Ultimate Nepalese Cook Book.Pemba, who served in the British Army for 23 years as a senior Gurkha catering officer, says: “Cooking for the Dalai Lama was not only the proudest moment of my career but my life and getting my cook book published is a dream come true”.
More recently he and his daughter Kessang cooked alongside Madhur Jaffrey in their home in Basingstoke, for a television programme that is due to be aired this winter featuring Nepalese cuisine.
