Kathmandu,
Nov. 8: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said the budget was a must to save
the nation from economic crisis.
Addressing
the Ninth General Convention of the Nepal Public Campus Association here today,
he urged the main opposition parties to be serious that the nation would be
pushed towards severe economic crisis if a full-fledged budget was not brought.
Prime
Minister Dr. Bhattarai also urged the intellectual classes to give positive
pressures to give a way out to the nation from present political transition.
Dr.
Bhattarai expressed his concern over the former King Gyanendra Shah making any
moves forgetting his status and warned that the facilities provided to him as
the former king would be snatched away if he continues to do so.
"It
is natural and positive to demand for university by the public campuses, the
government would take a concrete step over their demands evaluating the role
played by them in higher education," said Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai.
Similarly,
Minister for Education Dinanath Sharma said the structures of the Ministry
should be changed in the context as the Ministry of Education has failed to
give effective leadership to the higher education. Also, Minister Sharma
expressed his commitment to addressing the public campuses' demands for
University.
Representatives
from around 390 campuses have been participating in the general convention that
was started from Wednesday.
