Kathmandu, Nov. 8: General Secretary of the
Nepali Congress, Prakash Man Singh, has said that they have been compelled to
launch an agitation against the government as it has tried to run totalitarian
rule in a monopolistic manner.
At a gathering organized at Sorhakhutte in the
capital today for active members of NC on the occasion of the 97th birth
anniversary of leader Ganesh Man Singh, he said formation of a national
consensus government to go for elections was a compulsion.
Stressing on the need of going for elections to
institutionalize federal democratic republic and to fulfill responsibility of
constitution writing, Singh said it was a compulsion to launch agitation
against the government, which was obstacle for the same.
The programme was chaired by the programme
coordinator Dwarika Maharjan, where central member Bhishmaraj Angdambe and
Kathmandu District President of NC, Bhimsendas Pradhan, discussed about the
sacrifice and contribution made by leader Ganeshman Singh.
On the occasion, active members of Ward No. 16,
17, 18, 26, 27 and 28 under Kathmandu Metropolis and well-wishers of NC were
present, according to Nabin Manandhar, Ward No. 17 President of NC.
