The reception, organised at the party headquarters in Sanepa on the occasion of the festive season, saw the presence of high-ranking security personnel, political leaders, administrators, artistes, mediapersons, businesspersons and representatives from foreign missions based in Nepal.
Talking to mediapersons, UCPN(M) chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal said the event has created a positive ambiance for dialogue among political parties. We hope that parties will reach a consensus by Tihar, added Dahal.
NC President Sushil Koirala said the fate of the talks now depends on the government and the ruling party. There is no alternative to a government of national consensus and fresh elections, he added.
UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said his party will move ahead by participating in talks as well as organising anti-government protests. The Prime Minister needs to resign to clear the decks for a government of national consensus, added Khanal
