Kathmandu,
Feb. 11: Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi has resigned from his post. He tendered
his resignation to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to be effective from today.
Regmi
announced his resignation from the post of Chief Justice in the address to the
nation that he gave in his capacity as the Chairman of the Council of Ministers
from the meeting hall of the National Development Council in Singha Durbar
today.
He
stated in his address that he decided to dissociate from the post of Chief
Justice of the Supreme Court.
Regmi had assumed office as the Chairman of the
Interim Election Council of Ministers on March 14, 2013 for the purpose of
holding the Constituent Assembly election. In his address to the nation, Regmi
has expressed happiness on fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted him by the
nation.
