NEW PM KOIRALA SWORN IN



Kathmandu, Feb. 11: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected Prime Minister Sushil Koirala amidst a special ceremony at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Shital Niwas today.
The Legislature-Parliament on Monday elected Nepali Congress (NC) President Koirala the sixth PM of federal republic Nepal.
Vice President Parmananda Jha, Acting Chief Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma and Speaker Surya Bahadur Thapa were present on the occasion.
Former PMs Jhalanath Khanal (Chairman, CPN-UML), Madhav Kumar Nepal (senior leader, CPN-UML), Sher Bahadur Deuba (NC senior leader), Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Chairman, UCPN-Maoist), Dr Baburam Bhattarai (UCPN-Maoist leader) and Lokendra Bahadur Chand were also  present at the swearing-in ceremony of the new PM.
Former Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi, former ministers, lawmakers, NC Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel, chiefs and officials of constitutional bodies, Chief of Nepal Police, Nepal Army Chief and other high ranking officials, senior journalists and various political leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony.  They congratulated the new PM and wished him a successful term.
