PM set to visit India next Friday

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is paying a state visit to India from April 6-8 at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Friday. This will be his maiden foreign trip after assuming the office on February 15 and will be in line with the tradition of Nepali PM visiting India first.

ccompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya, PM Oli will leave for India next Friday leading a government delegation comprising ministers, members of parliament, secretaries and other high-ranking officials of Nepal government, read a statement issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.

During the visit, PM will hold official meeting with Indian PM Narendra Modi and exchange views on matters of mutual interests. He will pay courtesy call on President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu. Some senior Cabinet members of Indian Government will call on PM Oli.

PM Oli will also visit Pantnagar, Uttarakhand and attend a programme organised at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, the statement further read.

KATHMANDU, NOV 22 - The crusaders of federalism based on single identity on Monday announced the formation of a new party under the leadership of former CPN-UML Vice Chairman Ashok Rai. The new party Sanghiya Samajbadi Party was announced at a programme organised at a function organised at New Baneshwor in the Capital. Most of the leaders and cadres of the new party are from the UML and some are also from the Nepali Congress.
