South Korean govt unveils EPS schedule

SEOUL, APR 08 - South Korean government has announced that the language tests under the Employment Permit System (EPS) will be held within a year. The Human Resource Department of EPS-Korea organised a programme in Seoul, the South Korean Capital, on Monday and informed about the upcoming language tests.
South korean government will be taking language tests in six countries including Nepal. According to the schedule, the announcement of the language test will be made on July 31 while the applications will be received from Kathmandu, Dharan and Butwal between August 13-16.

Likewise, the written examination will be taken on September 26 and 27 while the results will be made public on October 15. The number of quota for the countries has not been fixed yet. The ones passing the written language test will be eligible for entering south korea as migrant workers in 2015. The Korean government approves and finalises the yearly quota of the respective countries by the end of December.
Nepali youths started to enter Korea as migrant workers after Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the south korean government on July 31, 2007. Since then, EPS has conducted language tests four times and close to 22,000 Nepali youths have found employment in the country. South korea is the most lucrative destination for Nepali migrant workers.

Sanghiya Samajbadi Party formed under Rai

KATHMANDU, NOV 22 - The crusaders of federalism based on single identity on Monday announced the formation of a new party under the leadership of former CPN-UML Vice Chairman Ashok Rai. The new party Sanghiya Samajbadi Party was announced at a programme organised at a function organised at New Baneshwor in the Capital.
