Former PM Bhattarai hints at living retired life in Gorkha, taking up goat keeping



Kathmandu, March 29: Former Prime Minister and UCPN (Maoist) leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai wishes to spend his retired life after politics in his hometown Gorkha.
Taking part in an interaction programme organised by the Gorkha Tourism Society here Saturday, leader Bhattarai said, "Many people can call me 'foolish', but I wish to spend my retired life in Gorkha."

The capital-centric attitude must be changed and we should go back to the villages. Parents send their children abroad for further study who finally settle there, and they (parents) chose the capital to spend their old days, but this culture must be discouraged, he said. 
Suggesting the new generation people to switch to entrepreneurship by giving up the mentality of doing job, the former Finance Minister said he has planned to start goat rearing in partnership with his friends in his village.  He said his village lacks soil fit for agriculture, but it is suitable for goat rearing. 
Leader Bhattarai who is elected to the CA from Gorkha expressed his commitments to developing Gorkha as 'model zone of development'.
UCPN Maoist leader and lawmaker Hit Raj Pandey said there is abundant possibility of historic, cultural, religious and war tourism in the district and pledged to take initiative for that. A working paper on the tourism development of Gorkha was presented at the programme.

Sanghiya Samajbadi Party formed under Rai

KATHMANDU, NOV 22 - The crusaders of federalism based on single identity on Monday announced the formation of a new party under the leadership of former CPN-UML Vice Chairman Ashok Rai. The new party Sanghiya Samajbadi Party was announced at a programme organised at a function organised at New Baneshwor in the Capital. Most of the leaders and cadres of the new party are from the UML and some are also from the Nepali Congress.
