Kathmandu,
Dec. 4: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has directed leaders of the major four
political powers to form a national consensus government within the second
deadline given by him.
During
his meeting with the leaders of the UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and
United Democratic Madhesi Front, an alliance of Madhes-centric parties, at the Presidential Palace, Sheetal Niwas,
today, President Dr. Yadav directed them to take the issue seriously as there
would be bad impact if consensus was not forged among political parties this
time also.
The
meeting took place just two days before the termination of the deadline given
by the President to the political parties second time for consensus.
On
the occasion, the President urged them to forge consensus on the issues
relating to Constituent Assembly (CA) election and appointment of
office-bearers at the constitutional bodies.
He
also suggested the political parties cooperate for bringing an ordinance
related to an appointment of judges without parliamentary hearing so as to
avoid hassles in carrying out court-related possible in the absence of judges
in the Supreme Court.
Talking
to media persons after the meeting, Chairman of the CPN-UML, Jhalanath Khanal
said that President Dr Yadav suggested them forge a consensus within the
deadline at any cost.
Similarly,
UDMF leader and Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar said that they
informed the President that the next meeting to be held among the major
political powers would come up with a package deal on the disputed issues.
