Kathmandu, Oct 28: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash
Sharan Mahat has said his India visit was successful and fruitful.
Talking to media-persons at Tribhuvan International Airport upon his arrival
from India, on Friday, Minister Dr Mahat said, "The India visit was
fruitful. We put up the past agreements, projects and assistances with India.
We have got positive response; its results will come soon."
Dr Mahat was in New Delhi to take part in the ministerial-level meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission that took place on October 27.
The minute of the agreements were signed by both sides and exchanged each other for the implementation of various past projects and agreements that failed implementation on various reasons and delayed much.

Other issues discussed during the meeting were guarantee of power trade and ending invocation of India's internal law for it, and establishment of field office of the power trade at Bishakhapatnam. The issue of giving a final touch to the detailed report of the Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project was also discussed, apart from resolving all problems surrounding development projects. Minister Mahat expressed hope that the agreements would be implemented soon.
The meeting also touched upon various other issues including utilization of soft loan provided by India for earthquake survivors, preparation of detailed project report on irrigation for its implementation, construction of postal highway, Dalkebar-Hetauda sub-station, inundation at border check point, and link railway link between the two countries, according to Minister Dr Mahat.
